Learn about LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) Youth Violence Prevention in recognition of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Quillin Drew Musgrave, Chair of the LGBT Alliance and Manager of the Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Action Alliance's Training Institute, will share valuable information about how to support youth that identify as LGBT and help raise awareness of the violent acts that affect this specific demographic.

Paper Shredding Event at Main Library

The Friends of the Lynchburg Public Library is hosting a paper shredding event! 

Watch your old, outdated papers turned into confetti and help your community!  Everyone is invited to bring their personal, legal and tax papers for shredding. 

The cost is $10 for a standard copy paper box (cash or checks only).  Staples and paper clips can be left attached.  The shredding is done immediately, and you get to watch a video of the entire process while it’s happening.

Run for Their Lives - A 10K/5K Run/Walk & Youth Run

Run For Their Lives is a 10K race, 5k run/walk and Youth Run that spotlights sexual slavery worldwide. Entry fees will help build dorms and safehouses around the world and help to free women and children from sexual slavery and exploitation. Grab your friends, your co-workers, your family and get ready to Run for their Lives!  This is an all ages event.
